475LM EverCharge Battery Backup

Plug-in battery backup for the Liftmaster Estate Series and Jackshaft openers. When the power goes out — and you still need to get the car out, or get into the house — the 475LM keeps the opener running for up to 20 full open/close cycles. The opener charges the battery automatically in normal use.

The 475LM is engineered specifically for the EverCharge connector inside the listed openers. It will not connect to other Liftmaster models without that port. California buyers note: SB-969 (effective July 2019) requires battery backup on residential garage door openers — the 475LM is one approved retrofit.

When you need a battery backup

  • You enter the house through the garage and would be locked out during an outage.
  • You need to get a car out during a hurricane, ice storm, or grid event.
  • You're in California — SB-969 mandates battery backup on residential openers.
  • You've replaced the manual emergency release one too many times.

What customers say

★★★★★

Power went out for 19 hours during the ice storm last February. Garage door cycled six times — kids to school, two trips to a neighbor — without a hiccup.

Required by California law on my new construction. Installation took twenty minutes. The opener charges it in the background — I genuinely forgot it was there until we lost power.
