For openers built 1993–2005 with green, orange, or red learn buttons. Newer openers (post-2005) with a purple learn button need the 370LM keychain instead.

Programming the 970LM

Pair each button independently — once per opener.

  1. Press the colored "learn" button on the side of the motor unit (green, orange, or red). The indicator stays on for 30 seconds.
  2. Within 30 seconds, press and hold one button on the 970LM until the motor light blinks twice.
  3. Repeat at each additional opener using a different button.

To clear all paired remotes from an opener: hold its learn button for ~6 seconds until the indicator goes out, then re-pair only the remotes you want to keep.

What customers say

★★★★★

My 1999 opener has a red learn button — the local hardware store insisted I needed the purple-button remote. The 970LM is the right one.

★★★★★

Compact, lithium battery, three buttons. Replaced a 20-year-old visor remote that finally died.
