The 1090 is a fixed-code receiver — every paired remote's 10-DIP setting must match the receiver's 10-DIP setting. Set both to identical positions and they'll work. For rolling-code MegaCode remotes you need a different receiver — contact us for the Linear MegaCode receiver line.

Programming the 1090

Fixed-code receivers don't "learn" — instead, set the receiver's 10 DIP switches to match the transmitter's DIP code.

  1. Wire the 1090's 3-prong output to your gate operator or opener's wired-pushbutton terminals. Connect 24 V AC/DC power.
  2. Open the receiver enclosure to access the DIP-switch bank. Set all 10 switches to the same up/down pattern as your transmitter.
  3. Mount the 11-inch wire antenna with at least 12 inches of clearance from metal.
  4. Test by pressing the transmitter — the receiver should activate.

To use additional remotes, set every transmitter's DIP switches to the same pattern as the receiver. Since codes are fixed, anyone with a matching transmitter can operate the gate — choose unique patterns for each installation.

What customers say

★★★★★

Replaced a 30-year-old Linear receiver on the ranch gate. Set the DIP switches to match my old transmitters and everything just worked. No new remotes needed.

★★★★☆

Functional and reliable but it's old technology. If you're building new, get rolling-code. If you're maintaining a fleet of fixed-code Multicode remotes, this is the right receiver.
