Stanley exited the residential garage door opener business in 1997. If your Stanley opener is older than ~25 years and you can't find replacement remotes anywhere else, this is the part. Confirm the model is in our compatibility list before ordering.

Programming the Stanley 1050

Match the 10 binary DIP switches inside the remote to the receiver inside the powerhead.

  1. Open the back cover of the 1050 and choose any pattern across the 10 switches.
  2. Open the powerhead and locate the receiver board. Set the matching 10-switch DIP block.
  3. Replace covers and test. The light on the powerhead should blink when the remote is pressed.

Stanley powerheads from the late 1980s sometimes have only 9 active switches โ€” leave the 10th switch in either position.

I have a 1989 Stanley ST420 that the previous owners left behind. This remote was the only way to keep it running. Works perfectly.

Hard part to find now. Texdoor had it in stock and shipped fast. Saved me from replacing the entire opener.
