Genie openers with the older orange or maroon "Code Dodger" learn button (1995–2005) work with this remote. For very old Genie openers with no learn button (DIP-switch coding), order the GT912.
Programming the GIT-1
Genie's pairing procedure is slightly different than Liftmaster's — there's a two-press sequence on the remote.
- Press and release the round "learn" button on the back of the Genie opener powerhead. The radio indicator LED will glow.
- Within 30 seconds, press and hold the button on the GIT-1. The opener LED will blink.
- Release the button, then press it once more. The opener LED stops blinking when pairing is complete.
Each Genie Intellicode opener can store up to 7 remotes. To erase all remotes, hold the learn button for 10 seconds.
