Pair each button to a different Genie powerhead to operate two doors. For very old Genie openers with no learn button (DIP-switch coding), order the original GT912.
Programming the GIT-2
Genie's pairing procedure uses a two-press sequence on the remote — repeat once per button.
- Press and release the round "learn" button on the back of the first Genie opener powerhead. The radio LED will glow.
- Within 30 seconds, press and hold the top button on the GIT-2 until the LED blinks. Release, then press the same button once more.
- Repeat at the second powerhead using the bottom button on the GIT-2.
Each Genie Intellicode opener stores up to 7 button-pairings. Adding an 8th will erase the oldest.
